Free legal aid in San Bernardino and Riverside.

People who can’t afford an attorney on their own can get legal advice and guidance from several non-profit and pro-bono law firms. The locations in operate as non-profit organizations and focus their services on low income individuals.

While any civil matter can be dealt with, many individuals from the region, including in San Bernardino County, need legal aid for evictions, consumer fraud, denials of government benefits, and similar challenges. A major focus is on homeless prevention and ensuring fair access for all to the legal system.

Most of the assistance is provided at clinics that are regularly held in the region. The attorneys or their staff will also offer their services in both English and Spanish, so people of different backgrounds, ages, and races can all get help. Some of the primary topics addressed are below.

Seniors age 60 or older can get advice on matters that are important to them. The Inland Legal Services will try to give them priority, in particular the homebound and/or disabled. They can get help with any elder abuse issues, such as financial thefts or mental abuse. Eviction prevention and housing programs are also available from the lawyers.

Many of the elderly also need help in applying for government benefits, such as MediCal, and attorneys can assist with the process and ensure the application is treated fairly.

Seniors from the San Bernardino County and Riverside area often need assistance with denials of applications of that public aid. For example, the elderly may often be denied in their quest for disability or MediCare. When this occurs, the help of an attorney and the free legal support they provide can help with this process, including contesting a denial. There may also be fraud attempts directed at seniors in the Inland region, so contact an attorney for support with those issues. For more information, contact a center below.
