Free prescription drug medications from Pfizer.

Drug company Pfizer has created a prescription assistance program that will offer free drugs and prescription medication. The focus of the program is on helping unemployed U.S. workers who have lost their jobs and their health insurance coverage.

Pfizer has named the prescription assistance program MAINTAIN, which is an acronym that stands for "Medicines Assistance for Those who Are In Need".

Unfortunately, millions of Americans have been laid off over the last several months or years and have also lost their health insurance coverage as a result of that. Or others may be faced with a reduction in coverage or an expensive COBRA policy. This loss of income as well as their health insurance makes it very difficult for them to pay for any types of medications that are not covered by private or government sponsored health insurance coverage.

The program, which will also assist Pfizer with maintaining customer loyalty, will help people save money, and help people maintain a healthy lifestyle. It will be open for enrollment through the end of the year. In order to be qualified, the program is open to eligible Americans who have been unemployed since Jan. 1.

How to be eligible for MAINTAIN from Pfizer

Other criteria to be eligible for the program include the loss of employment since January 1. They also can’t have any pother means to get their medications so the applicant needs to have a lack of a current health insurance plan that covers any needed prescriptions and medications. In addition, the person seeking aid must have had a prescription for a Pfizer medication for a minimum of three months prior to the first day of unemployment or enrolling in the program.

The Pfizer MAINTAIN program will provide the patient access to the company’s almost 80 primary care prescription drugs, including Viagra and Lipitor, free of charge for one year. It is open to those Americans who are left without health coverage through job losses since the start of this year. Other drugs that people can receive for free include Celebrex and the fibromyalgia treatment Lyrica. Also, medications from several other popular drug classes such as heart medications, antifungal treatments, smoking cessation products, antibiotics, antidepressants, and even contraceptives are also being included in this drug assistance program. There are also cheaper and free generic versions available for many of these medications.

All applicants for the Pfizer free drug program will need to sign a statement that they are suffering from a financial hardship or crisis, and that they will have to provide a “pink slip” or similar employer notice in order to receive the free medications. Applicants need to be able to prove that they have lost their job, that they do not have health insurance. They also need to show proof that they meet income limits.
