The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF)
The goal of the Florida Department of Children and Families is to protect the vulnerable, poor, low income and to also promote strong as well as economically self-sufficient individuals and families, including in partnership with United Way 211. Florida Discount Drug Card

Emergency Grants and Financial Assistance
Non-profits or the government can provide a one-time cash grant payment to those families who face the loss of housing, electric, food or other basic needs. Florida Health Care Access Program
This government assistance program will make quality, affordable health insurance and full access to health care available to Florida’s almost 4 million uninsured residents. The six health insurance carriers that are in this plan currently offer over 20 health insurance products to Florida residents, and each health insurer offers at least two benefit options. They include a catastrophic plan with hospital coverage and a preventive care plan.

Food Stamp Program

The SUNCAP assistance program is a special Food Stamp Program that is for individuals who currently receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA)
The TCA program will provides cash assistance and grants to those families that have children under the age of 18 or under the age of 19 if they are full time secondary school students. The children must also meet the technical, asset, and income requirements. This financial aid program helps families become self-supporting while also allowing children to remain in their own homes, and it also coordinates state of Florida rent assistance programs.
In addition, pregnant women may also receive TCA assistance, either in the 6th month of pregnancy if unable to work, or in the 9th month of pregnancy. it also helps single moms. Receive free phone or cellular service from this government assistance program. The Lifeline program provides either a $13.50 credit per month on a phone land line bill or it will provide approximately 60 free cellphone minutes per month. Safelink offers this service in Florida.
